SERMON: WHEN THE THIEF MUST GIVE BACK
Beloved, one of the greatest revelations we must understand as children of God is that the enemy is a thief. Jesus clearly revealed his agenda: to steal, kill, and destroy.
A thief does not announce himself before coming. He operates secretly, looking for an opportunity to take what does not belong to him. In the same way, the enemy seeks to interfere with the blessings, opportunities, peace, joy, progress, and fruitfulness that God has ordained for His children.
There are seasons when a person works hard but sees little result. There are moments when opportunities seem to disappear at the point of manifestation. Sometimes, one may experience repeated disappointments, unexplained setbacks, financial losses, broken relationships, or delays that seem difficult to understand.
However, we must be careful not to attribute every difficulty to spiritual activity. Some losses have natural causes and require wisdom, discipline, accountability, or practical action. But Scripture also teaches us that there is a spiritual dimension to our battles, and that is why we must learn to pray and stand firmly in faith.
GOD IS A RESTORER
The good news is that the enemy does not have the final word.
Joel 2:25 says:
«“And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten…”»
God is able to restore what has been lost. He can recover opportunities, renew strength, rebuild broken places, and cause forgotten blessings to come into manifestation.
Your past losses do not have the power to determine your future.
David understood the power of recovery. In 1 Samuel 30:8, after everything had been taken from him, he sought the Lord, and God told him:
«“Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake, and shalt surely recover all.”»
This is a powerful word for someone who feels that life has taken too much from them.
You can recover. You can rise again. You can rebuild. You can experience restoration.
DO NOT GIVE THE THIEF ACCESS
A thief needs access before he can steal. Spiritually, we must therefore guard our hearts, our minds, our relationships, our habits, and our spiritual lives.
Do not allow bitterness, unforgiveness, fear, disobedience, careless relationships, ignorance, or destructive habits to create unnecessary openings for loss.
The Bible says in Proverbs 4:23:
«“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”»
Guard what God has entrusted to you.
Guard your faith.
Guard your family.
Guard your calling.
Guard your character.
Guard your opportunities.
Guard your peace.
And above all, remain close to God.
THE LORD IS YOUR DEFENDER
You do not have to live in fear of invisible enemies.
Psalm 121:7 declares:
«“The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.”»
Your confidence is not in your ability to fight every unseen battle. Your confidence is in the God who watches over you.
When God becomes your refuge, you can face tomorrow with confidence.
When God restores, He does not merely return what was lost; He can cause your latter days to become greater than your former days.
So today, pray with faith—not fear.
Pray with confidence—not desperation.
Pray believing that God is able to preserve what He has given you and restore what has been lost.
PRAYER POINTS
1. Father, every spiritual robber assigned to steal my blessings before they manifest, be arrested by the hosts of Heaven. Nothing that belongs to me shall be stolen again. In Jesus’ name.
2. O Lord, wherever my virtues, favor, opportunities, or divine rewards have been hidden by invisible thieves, let Your mighty hand recover them and restore them to me with increase. In Jesus’ name.
3. Every power feeding on the harvest of my labor while I struggle for little results, your reign is over. I recover the full reward of my efforts by the power of God. In Jesus’ name.
4. Father, let every evil hand stretched against my joy, peace, health, finances, ministry, family, or destiny wither permanently. I shall not suffer another unexplained loss. In Jesus’ name.
5. O Lord, expose every hidden thief pretending to be a friend while secretly working against my progress. Separate me from every deceptive relationship by Your divine wisdom. In Jesus’ name.
6. Every altar sponsoring repeated losses, missed opportunities, and mysterious setbacks in my life, catch fire and lose your influence forever. In Jesus’ name.
7. Father, surround my destiny with Your wall of fire. Let no spiritual robber gain access to my blessings, my children, my business, my calling, or my future. In Jesus’ name.
8. Lord, every night operation of darkness targeted at exchanging or stealing my testimonies, be frustrated by angelic intervention. I shall wake up each day stronger, favored, and victorious. In Jesus’ name.
9. Father, let every blessing that has been delayed because of spiritual theft be released speedily. I enter a season where nothing good shall escape my hands again. In Jesus’ name.
10. O Lord, from today, my life shall become untouchable by the kingdom of darkness. I decree that every good thing You have prepared for me shall be preserved, multiplied, and manifested for Your glory. In Jesus’ name.
FAITH DECLARATION
EVERY SPIRITUAL THIEF IS ARRESTED! I RECOVER ALL THAT BELONGS TO ME, AND MY TESTIMONIES SHALL NOT BE STOLEN. IN JESUS’ NAME!
I SHALL NOT LOSE WHAT GOD HAS GIVEN ME.
I SHALL NOT LABOR IN VAIN.
MY BLESSINGS SHALL NOT BE STOLEN.
MY TESTIMONIES SHALL NOT BE EXCHANGED.
MY DESTINY SHALL NOT BE WASTED.
THE LORD SHALL PRESERVE ME AND ALL THAT CONCERNS ME.
I RECOVER ALL!
I RECEIVE RESTORATION!
I WALK IN VICTORY!
IN JESUS’ MIGHTY NAME. AMEN!
